The Transparency Act
The purpose of the Transparency Act is to promote companies' respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions, and ensure public access to information.
Pursuant to the Act, AB Invest has a duty of disclosure and, among other things, must conduct due diligence assessments. Fundamental human rights refer to internationally recognised human rights, including those pursuant to:
- The UN Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights from 1966
- The UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights from 1966, and
- The ILO Core Conventions on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
The term decent working conditions refers to work that safeguards fundamental human rights and ensures health, safety, and environmental standards in the workplace, while providing a living wage. For AB Invest to operate in the best possible way, we rely on our suppliers and business partners. Our goal is for this collaboration to be based on trust and transparency, with a shared understanding, attitude, and respect for fundamental requirements regarding human rights, workers' rights, and the environment. AB Invest is working on mapping our supply chains concerning the risk areas covered by the Transparency Act. This work is an ongoing process to ensure that potential risks are identified, verify whether they are genuine, and then manage these risks in the best possible way.
