Norway's most environmentally friendly construction project is located along the waterfront next to beautiful Hamresanden beach, just on the outskirts of Kristiansand.
Here, surrounded by large green areas, 127 retirement apartments ranging from 74 to 150 square metres are being built across seven buildings with three to four floors. The apartments are of high standard and designed with universal accessibility in mind. The project places a strong emphasis on communal areas, including a common room with a kitchen and dining area for 50 people, a large fitness room with various equipment, a beauty and nail salon, and a car wash area in the underground car park.
The apartments are 'passive houses', equipped with additional insulation, heat recovery systems, and other measures that reduce energy consumption by up to 75%. In other words, electricity bills at Gurines Hage are definitely affordable.
