Quality Hotel Skifer consists of over 500 tonnes of slate, is located 545 metres above sea level and surrounded by the Trollheimen mountain range and Dovre National Park.
In addition to 177 hotel rooms, Quality Hotel Skifer features 27 apartments. These were sold and fully developed in 2023 and are located adjacent to the hotel.
Quality Hotel Skifer is clad both inside and out in Oppdal slate, which is several hundred million years old. A round of applause for Skifer Naturheim for their work. Local slate provides a sense of place, and even though that connection cost us a bit more, it was absolutely worth it.
The hard material used both inside and outside contrasts with the soft, warm hotel experience. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the large fireplace, which, combined with the rustic oak flooring, will make you want to stay forever... or at least one more day.
