The World Championship Pavilion was originally used to promote the 2011 Ski World Championship. Constructed using glue-laminated timber (glulam), it consists of three modules, making it easy to relocate and reuse.
After its initial function during the championship, the pavilion was repurposed as a youth recreational centre in Majorstuen, continuing to serve the local community in a sustainable way. The pavilion also houses Majorstuen Red Cross, and its activities include homework help, job training, music lessons and mentoring sessions.
The tenant is Bydel Frogner, the City of Oslo.
